LUMIPro Holiday Contest Time!

 I know it is a bit late in the season, but I could not resist the urge to do a photo contest. Let's get to it! Every year we love to see what you guys come up with for seasonal photos, and sometimes they even get to be featured as LUMIPro advertisements! 

This year I thought why not give you two themes to work with. They can be holiday-themed (Christmas, Hanaka, etc.) or goodbye 2020 themed (Happy New Years etc).

Here are the guidelines

We will be accepting contest entries until December 28th. (DEADLINE EXTENDED to January 2nd!)

All photos must be holiday or new years themed. This does not necessarily have to mean just Christmas or your standard New Years party. Think outside the box and have fun!

We will be using photos from this particular contest for our holiday advertisements. So here is a link to some of the LUMIPro logos and banners if you would like to use them.

All photos must be entered in the LUMIPro Flickr Group as well as the LUMIPro Contest Group with Holiday2020 somewhere in the title.

All photos entered into the contest must be downloadable (this makes our job easier) If they are not downloadable they will not be considered.

You are allowed to enter as many photos as you like just please make sure they follow LUMIPro's Community Content Standards.

Also, don't forget this contest is open to LUMIPro users only, and all entries must have been taken while using LUMIPro.

Now onto the fun part... The prizes!

First Place will receive 5,000 Lindens and a LUMIPro gift certificate!

Second Place will receive 3,000 lindens and a LUMIPro gift certificate!

Third Place will receive 2,000 Linden and a LUMIPro gift certificate!

*All gift certificates are transferable.*

Photo Contest Time With LUMIPro And The Isle Of Elar!

Hello, my lovelies! It has been s while since I have chatted with my favorite people so I thought I would bring you something exciting. LUMIPro has partnered Elar by Dominant Elegance to bring you a photo contest! 

Elar is a beautiful steampunk-themed sim with a BDSM flair! It is quickly becoming one of my favorite places. I thought I would let the owner Shayn Mackenzie tell you more...

"A short history of The Isle of Elar. It was founded by a group of BDSM practitioners that were fleeing persecution because of their chosen lifestyle.  They happened on a small island in the mouth of a dormant volcano. Beneath the island is a labyrinth of steam vents that the city's inhabitants were able to harness to create a city powered by the natural steam provided by the heat trapped within the volcano. The architecture of the city reflects both the founders' love of art and their desire to further their practice of BDSM. Throughout the city, you will find many buildings that beckon for a photographer's eye.  A great deal of time and effort has been devoted to the creation of Isle of Elar and it's intended level of detail. We call ourselves Elarians and welcome your visit to our fine city. We only ask that while here you dress either in Steampunk attire or something equally dressy in nature. We welcome humans, vampires, nekos and those with anthropomorphic avatars."

And now for the fun part... Contest details!

**Contest Rules & FAQ**

1.  Who is eligible to enter?

Anyone.  The contest is open to anyone who would like to join. The only requirement is that you follow our rules and be a member of Dominant Elegance. Entering is free. 

2.  What is the contest time period?

The contest will commence on the March 15th, 2020 and run until April 15th, 2020

3.  How will winners be notified?

Winners will be announced via notice in the Dominant Elegance group and contacted individually upon close of the contest.  The winning pictures will be displayed in the Emporium upon completion of the contest.  Additionally, we will be making a selection of noteworthy works to also be displayed in the Emporium.  All artists with work displayed will be notified prior to the grand opening of the Gallery.

4.  What are the prizes?

First Place:  A gift certificate for a LUMIPro 

Second Place:  3,000 L$

Third Place: 1,500 L$

5.  How will we determine the winners? 

The winners will be chosen by an anonymous panel of five judges.

6.  Where do the pictures need to be taken?  

All pictures need to be taken on the Isle of Elar, including the inside of buildings to qualify for the contest. Submitted pictures that fail to comply fully with this will be disqualified.  This is a great opportunity to explore the many unique places for photography throughout the city.  All photos may contain nudity, but if clothed, the pictures must follow the rules of attire for the sim.  This is a steampunk sim. Your photos should reflect that or our culture of BDSM.  If you can do both, it will go a long way in originality for your photos.

7.  May I rez things for the photos?

Yes, as always, visitors to the Isle of Elar may rez objects, but please remember to pick any items you rez.

8.  May I use post-editing for the photos?  

Yes, you may use any software at your disposal as well as inworld lighting.  Do not think that if you are not able to post edit the photos that you will automatically lose.  We are looking at content as major criteria for the photos.  We are choosing a total of 20 pictures to be displayed in the gallery.

9.  How do I submit pictures?

All pictures will be submitted to the "Isle of Elar Photo Contest" Flickr group.  Please add your Second Life name to the description section of the photo

4 Days Left To Go!

Hello everyone! I wanted to take a little bit of time and remind you guys about the Fun in the Sun Photo Hunt. There are only four days left! We have some great entries so far, but I would love to see more. Here is a recap of the contest details...

First of all what is a photo hunt? The idea is you pick a sim, and all contest entry photos must be taken on whatever Sim was chosen. For our very first photo hunt we will be using Vice Beach. You are welcome to use the entire sim is not just limited to the beach area.

Now let's talk about those pesky rules:

• All photos must be taken on Vice Beach or the other half of the sim Strokerz Toyz.
• All contest entries must be submitted to the Fun in the Sun Flickr Group.
• Entries will be accepted from September 3rd to September 18th (Any entries submitted before or after will not be accepted)
• All of the entries must be RAW shots. (You are welcome to crop your photos, but no other post processing with programs such as Gimp and Photoshop is allowed.)
• Please include your Second Life name in the description of your photos.
• You can submit as many photos as you like. 
• The contest is open to everyone! Even people who haven't tried LUMIPro yet can enter. So tell your friends!

And of course we can't forget the awesome prizes!

• The grand prize winner will receive 10,000 lindens and a custom single avatar mocap sponsored by Strokerz Toyz and LUMIPro.
• The first Place winner will receive a gift certificate for the LUMIPro 2016 (winner of two consecutive Avi Choice Awards for Favorite Photography/Media Tool). 
• The second place winner will receive a custom couple pose sponsored by Strokerz Toyz.
• The third place winner will receive a photo shoot sponsored by Hard Alley Social Club.

The Fun in the Sun Starts Today!

Hello all of you amazing people! I just wanted to send out a reminder that the Fun in the Sun Photo Hunt begins today! We are kicking it off with the 50/60s beach party tonight at 7 PM SLT. There will be exclusive gifts you can only receive at the party. I hope to see you all there! I must admit I am very excited about this event. The party as well as the photo hunt is open for everyone to participate so bring your friends along.

Details Released for the Fun in the Sun Photo Hunt!

*** As you teleport in you see a beach that stretches as far as the eye can see. As you look across the horizon you see a stage that was built out of an old truck. As you walk closer you see a woman in a vintage swimsuit that can you over. She tosses a beach ball at you with a mischievous grin on her face. ***

Oh hi there! We are just getting set up for the party this Saturday. You are dying for details? Well I guess I can let the cat out of the bag. This Saturday we will be kicking off our Fun in the Sun photo hunt! LUMIPro is super excited to be partnering with Strokerz Toyz and Hard Alley Social Club for our very first photo hunt.

What is the idea behind a photo hunt and how does it work? The idea is you pick a sim, and all contest entry photos must be taken on whatever Sim was chosen. Not to the event that is helping us concur cancer. Unfortunately this horrible disease has touched each of us in someway. Every year Second Life takes a stand and holds the largest fundraising event on the grid, the Relay For Life of Second Life! This year they have raised $235,435USD, how amazing is that? Stefan and I were so proud to be able to donate 2 LUMIPros for the auction. Nikki Mathieson and  Magda Kamenev were the lucky auction winners! Some Quick Reminders.

I just wanted to take a few moments to remind everyone that the relay for life auction ends today at 1:45 PM. For all the details please check out this blog post. I really do hope you guys will come and support this great cause. Cancer in one way or another has touched all of our lives, let's do what we can to work towards ending this horrible disease.

I also wanted to remind everyone that entries for Windlight Magazine's summer fashion photo contest are due today. For details on that check this blog post. It is a really fun event to take part in.

We are so excited to sponsor both of these events. At each of them the winners will receive a LUMIPro gift certificate! Don't worry if you are really an owner the gift certificates are transferable. If you have a friend who has been wanting a LUMIPro now would be a great time for them to get one.

Win A LUMIPro at The Windlight Summer Fashion Event!

I am excited to announce the start of the Windlight Summer Fashion Event! What does this have to do with photography or LUMIPro, you ask. At any great event there is always a... photo contest!

LUMIPro is very proud to be  a sponsor for this amazing event! Before we talk about the event as a whole I want to tell you about the photo contest itself. Everyone is eligible to enter. 

Here are some of the guidelines:

1) Shoot a photo featuring an item bought at the Windlight Summer Fashion Event (not a Hunt item), and shoot the photo on the Event Summer Fashion Event Plaza build. Windlight Summer Fashion Event Landmark.

2) Submit the Photo labelled 'Windlight Summer Fashion Event Competition' to the Windlight Events Group Flickr Page.

  3) Photo description should include your SL Avatar legacy name, and the item name and designer brand of the item featured in the photo. (Photo must include at least one item)

4) Entries are due by 12AM SLT on July 17, 2016.

I know you all must be dying to know what the winner will receive. Their very own gift certificate for a LUMIPro 2016! If you have always wanted a LUMIPro, or have a friend who really wants one, this is a great way to make it happen!

Re-create with a LUMIPro Contest!

I have been a bad Miss LUMPro, and it has been far too long since I visited with you guys, so I thought I would make it up to. How my going to do that, you ask. With a LUMIPro contest!

You guys have been asking for one, and I think this would be a great time to have some fun with it. So here's how it's going to work...

Stefan recently did a post about showing you a shot from start to finish, you can find that post here. The idea of this contest is to re-create your own version of this shot.

 (Without the logo pf course!)

The goal of the contest is not to do an exact re-creation, but to have fun with the concept. Use this shot as your inspiration. I know I wouldn't mind seeing a guy or two on a dance pole -winks-

To enter the contest you must upload your photo to LUMIPro's Flickr Group with the title "A Re-Creation with LUMIPro". Please make sure you use that title exactly. (It will make it easier for us to find contest entries). You're welcome to submit as many photos as you like.

There are only a couple of rules:
You must be a LUMIPro owner to enter.
You must use LUMIPro in each photo you enter.
We must be able to tell that it was inspired by the photo in this blog post.

The last day you can post an entry is June 28, 2016

First off, Happy Halloween everyone! We hope that you are having a great holiday filled with lots of fun and candy. Today is going to be a short and sweet post with just a few announcements. Lets get started... 

We want to send out a big congratulations to Winona Jr (shafalisa Resident) for winning the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Photo Contest. One of the prizes she got to take home was a LUMIPro! Welcome to the family Winona! Here is a look at her winning photo.

Oh, that small mishap? It is only half of a building... We think Second life might have done voodoo magic to make it disappear. We should have it back up soon. In other exciting news I want to tell you about a great photo contest going on at the moment. It is The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Photo Contest! While we here at LUMIPro were unable to sponsor this year, we were pleased to donate a LUMIPro Photography Hud as a part of the first prize! The sponsors this year are Skyy Games and Paramour Studios, the theme for the photos this year is ''The Beauty Within.'' For rules and details please check out their blog. The contest only goes until the 18th so get those shutters going!
