LUMIPro's Gallery Features Tiya Aura!

Good morning LUMIPro enthusiasts! Today we are excited to bring you s gallery show featuring the work of the amazing Tiya Aura. The show will be today (the 16th) at 1 PM. While we all wait I had the pleasure of sitting down with her for an interview...

I am so excited to have the opportunity to interview such an amazing artist! So first question… How did you hear about Second Life, and what got you started? Tiya: I was watching a TV show many years ago. While watching it, I was amazed at how these people, who were playing the game took it so real. I got talking to my friend about it and just for fun, we decided to try it. I guess like everyone else who plays Second Life we got addicted the first day on it. What are some of the things that you love about Second Life? What keeps you coming back? Tiya: I was a massive horse breeder and an auctioneer. Designing great horses and selling them was such a buzz I was totally addicted and made great Money. Meeting some amazing people also was fantastic, even though I don’t Breed horses anymore I still have all the friends I met while doing it.

I love your work. What got you started in photography? Tiya: I had some friends who would ask me to do profile pictures for them. Then some other friends said try Flickr. I had never heard of it. So I took a look and was amazed at all the artist that did great artwork I was blown away and thought I need to learn this and so I did ( Best thing I’ve done so far in Second Life ) I have always said that photography is a journey it is not about being the best, but about where you are going. Why do you take photos? Are you trying to say something to the world? Tiya: Hard question to answer, I guess it’s the love of what you can do with the lights and your avatar and seeing the finished picture. As you know some pictures can take hours, you have to fix your fingers, fix your face, body limbs, etc. For me, it’s relaxing and it makes me feel good creating something that other people love, also it makes you feel good and there isn’t a better feeling than that.

When you decide you want to do a new photo what is your creative process like from start to finish? Tiya: Oh, this is easy ( I am laughing here ) I go shopping and see something I like. Usually, the moment I see it, I get an idea for a picture... I see a finished picture in my head so I have to get the pose correct do my lights, a certain way. I think most of us do this. Something just clicks in your head. I think I am lucky because I am an artist in RL so it's easier for me to know what I wish the finished picture to be. They don’t always work lol What advice would you give to new photographers in Second Life? Tiya: Buy LUMIPro !!!!!!! I am glad you love it as much as I do! Do you have any photography inspirations in either Second Life or Real Life?
Tiya: No, but I did mention I am an artist in RL, which is why I love doing pictures In SL. To me, it is an extension of my RL I draw sensual couple pictures and I do portraits. So to be able to alter your avatar into a sensual position or do a great face shot is awesome to me.

I would love to see some of your real-life work sometime! So how about we talk about the hud that brought us together, LUMIPro! How did you hear about LUMIPro, and what made you decide to take the plunge and get the HUD?
Tiya: My friends were using the LUMIPro while taking pictures ( I was watching them) I was like wow how are you doing all that ( lights etc) so they explained all about the LUMIpro. I was very lucky because a great person I know then went and bought me one for a gift, he had to then teach me how to use it, poor guy, lol A teacher is definitely helpful. Do you have a favorite LUMIPro feature?
Tiya: I love you have poses built-in, that's awesome and I love using the projector and the lights. There is so much you can do with the lights, it’s great fun to play around with. If you could pick a new LUMIPro feature what would it be?
Tiya: I would love it if you could fix your hands and body and face via the hud, instead of having to have a different hud on fixing poses. But apart from that, I think it's Perfecto.

So tell me something else… Maybe share something our readers won’t know. What makes you who you are?
Tiya: Well I am called Brat in SL, and I earned that name lol My friends say I am driven, outspoken and I don't give a crap about what I say, which is correct because I don't lol If you don't want the truth, don't ask me a question, because you may not like my answer. I am very honest and I love nothing more than to help people. I am just me, I've nothing hidden I am an open book... I love nothing more than laughing :) Last but not least, what are your hopes for your future in Second Life?
Tiya: I hope every picture I take gets better and better. There are some stunning artists out there and my hopes are that one day I will reach the level that they are at. I still have a long way to go, but hell I am enjoying the journey.

I had a wonderful time interviewing Tiya! I hope to see you all at her show today at 1PM. You will not want to miss it!

Here is your ride!

UMIPro Above and Beyond.
Posted August 06, 2019 by Anjelica Andel 5 stars

So, I have been on SL for almost as long as SL has been around. I have always loved taking pictures as a way to document my life in SL. I have gotten into blogging. I used wind lights, local lights and self made projectors. I found it annoying having to adjust and add multiple projectors, make them bigger/smaller. Getting a butterfly effect on mine or others faces was hard, You had to adjust each small projector just right on each person in a group photo. I got fet up and took to MP. I found LUMIPro. There was the answer to all of My problems. I watched all of the videos the team has. Not only can I use the LUMIPro for myself. I can use it with other people, group photos, items to add to my wardrobe but even locking and making the projector invisible for around my land. You do not even have to have rez rights. You can just wear the included lights and projector right onto your avi and work the HUD as normal, on top of that you can give them to anyone and work it from the HUD. very minimal adjusting and again right from the HUD. I use this daily and would never give it up. The staff are amazing and very helpful and always there to assist you with any questions you have. You will not be disappointed. Well work every last Linden!

Well worth the money!

I recently received the Lumipro hud as a gift. I had been putting off buying it because it looks so complicated to use. After watching the video listed at the bottom of hud's MP page I found out exactly how wrong I was. It's so simple and now my pictures look better. Thank you to Stefan Buscaylet for making it and thank you to Lucky for buying it for me!

To be honest the quality of my photographs has increased exponentially since I have Lumi Pro, I never thought I could make good pictures, but with this wonderful HUD I feel more and more happy to have it. It is a great investment.

If you still want to why not try a fully functioning demo at LUMIPro's World Headquarters? If you have any questions don't hesitate to contact Samantha Ansar-Buscaylet in Second Life.

Oh and don't forget you can check out our gallery artist Immylicious there as well!

LUMIPro's Gallery Features Immylicious Vicious!

This week I had the pleasure of sitting down with the very talented Immylicious Vicious. She is going to be LUMIPro's next featured artist! Her show is scheduled for Monday, August 19th at 7PM SLT. I hope everyone will come to check out her amazing work, but while you wat here is her interview...

I am so excited to have the opportunity to interview such an amazing artist! So first question… How did you hear about Second Life, and what got you started?

Immy: I heard about it through a co-worker/friend about 10 years ago.  They helped me set up my first avi and took me to hubs where people would chat and hang out.  I actually got frustrated right away because I had no idea what I was doing with my avi and where to go and what else to do, so I  quit right away.  Then something happened to me in RL that made me not want to really socialize in the RL much, so I picked it back up again because I am definitely a social butterfly.

I remember when I first started I think we all have experienced that frustration. What are some of the things that you love about Second Life? What keeps you coming back?

Immy: The first thing I fell in love with in Second Life was the music scene.  I had no clue there were dance clubs here, and when someone tp’d me to one I was floored.  I never left the rock club scene.  In fact, I also DJ.  Music is definitely my first and last love.

You DJ as well? I would love to catch a set sometime! You are definitely one of my favorite photographers. I love your work. What got you started?

Immy: Well I was inspired by many photographers I had been seeing already doing amazing work about 1.5 years ago.  The first person I can remember noticing their photos was my bro, Dar.  He gave me pointers to get me started and I started to follow the work of so many other wonderful photographers. I actually feel so odd being chosen for a gallery with so many other amazing artists out there that are hundreds of times better than I am.

I have always said photography is a journey it is not about being the best, but about where you are going. Why do you take photos? Are you trying to say something to the world?

Immy: It really started as an outlet for my anxiety and stress.  It still is, but I feel I have less stress and more happy in my life and now I just strive to learn new things and keep improving my work. If there’s any message to the world in my photos, is that if you keep trying and practicing you can improve.

I love that! When you decide you want to do a new photo what is your creative process like from start to finish?

Immy: It happens in several different ways really.  I could hear a song lyric and spin-off of that, see a meme somewhere and spin-off that, etc.  The long way would be thinking of an emotion or situation I’m going through at the moment, trying to find or even make the pose, of course, add the lighting, change graphics and look for the perfect windlight.  After all that is to my liking I save and of course, upload it into my editor.  And as far as editing goes, I really just play around with things.  I have watched a few tutorials on youtube for help and other artsy ideas, but I really learn best by doing.  Also, I don’t even use Photoshop, I use Polarr which nobody else seems to use.  Uploading to Flickr can be a challenge as well sometimes, finding the perfect title and maybe a song or poem to pair with it.  The more I’ve learned, the longer the process is.  Unless I’m lucky.  My best photo with the most favs on Flickr literally took me five minutes!

I will have to try that program. I always like to learn new things. What advice would you give to new photographers in Second Life?

Immy: Try everything.  I love seeing and learning new techniques and things to try.  Right now I’m in love with overlays for example.  Who knows what I’ll find tomorrow.  I don’t know about everyone else, but when I look at someone’s portfolio I like to see it all.

Do you have any photography inspirations in either Second Life or Real Life?

Immy: My amazing partner, Ajax, and music.

So how about we talk about the hud that brought us together, LUMIPro! How did you hear about LUMIPro, and what made you decide to take the plunge and get the HUD?

Immy: Well, I would notice in situations my avi was not as visible as I liked.  I would ask my brother, Dar for his input and he told me about this amazing gadget.  I saved up some linden from DJing and was able to purchase it shortly after.

I remember hosting and saving for my LUMIPro as well, lol. Do you have a favorite LUMIPro feature?

Immy: The entire thing is awesome, but I guess I would have to say the projector options.

If you could pick a new LUMIPro feature what would it be?

Immy: Hard to say...maybe more poses?

Well you know we are always looking for new animators to work with, and you can add your own as well. Thank you for indulging me and talking about LUMIPro. So tell me something else… Maybe share something our readers won’t know. What makes you who you are?

Immy: All of the things I have been through in life.  The pains and struggles all have made me the empathetic, social human being I am today.  I can only hope that everyone can take their pain and turn it into something beautiful.

That was beautifully said, and last but not least what are your hopes for your future in Second Life?

Immy: I just want to keep improving on my photos, DJing and having fun with my love, Ajax, and my awesome friends.

I had a wonderful time getting to know Immylicious! I really do hope we see everyone Friday. Well until then...

Here is your ride!

LUMIPro's Gallery Needs You!

Hey everybody! I know it's been a while since you've heard from me, you have to love that pesky real life. I was chatting with Stefan and Momo and we all decided the best way to get back in the swing of things is with a gallery show! It's exciting though because it's not just going to be one or two artists. It's going to be as many as we can manage! We would love to showcase many different styles and skill levels.

If you would like to participate here are the guidelines:

  • Please don't forget to have your work displayed in the show you must be a LUMIPro user.
  • Use LUMIPro! We would love to see some of the amazing art you guys create with it.
  • Postprocessing such as Photoshop is welcome but not required.
  • Each person can submit up to five photos. We can't guarantee we will hang every single one, but we will do what we can. Please make sure each photo is downloadable.
  • We will only be accepting photos for the show until July 18, 2019. So hop to it! (Extended to the 19th)
  • Please submit your photos to LUMIPro's Contest Group, and also make sure they follow our content standards.

There is no theme so have fun with it! I can't wait to see what you come up with. Gallery shows like this have always been my favorite.

The show will take place on July 21, 2019 (time to be determined).

If you have any questions don't hesitate to contact one of us in world.

Until next time... Be brave, be bold, be creative, and happy shooting!
